Ruben Niesvizky
Professional Background: Dr. Niesvizky is a Professor of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center in Manhattan. He also serves as the Director of the Multiple Myeloma Center at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center.
Education and Training: Dr. Niesvizky earned his medical degree from the National University of Mexico. He completed an internal medicine residency at the National Institute of Nutrition in Mexico, followed by fellowships in hematology at Mount Sinai Medical Center and in hematology/medical oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York.
Contributions and Achievements: A prolific writer, Dr. Niesvizky has authored over 150 articles, editorials, chapters, and abstracts. He has received numerous grants and awards from prestigious organizations, including the National Cancer Institute and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. His peers have consistently recognized him as one of the “Best Doctors” in New York Magazine’s Hematology “Top Doctors” list. Dr. Niesvizky is a frequent lecturer, presenting regularly at annual medical meetings. He is an active member of the International Myeloma Working Group, which establishes standards of research and practice in myeloma.
Personal Interests: When not practicing medicine, Dr. Niesvizky enjoys playing classical and acoustic guitar. He has received private instruction from renowned guitarists Jorge Morel and Gohar Vardanyan and is currently enrolled in courses at Berklee.
