Alejandra Reyes Zamorano, is recognized for her great technical and expressive capacity demonstrated in each of her interpretations. A graduate of the Faculty of Music of the UNAM under the professorship of Dr. Juan Carlos Laguna, she received a scholarship from the Turquois Foundation to study at the Académie de Musique Fondation Prince Rainier III, in the Principality of Monaco under the guidance of Luc Vander Borght and Federico Marincola. 


As a teacher, she has taught at the Escuela de Iniciación a la Música y a la Dan- za del Centro Cultural Ollin Yoliztli, at the Faculty of Music of the UNAM and she has been teaching chamber music for children and youth within the Kithara Project Mexico Program which takes place in Yugüelito (CDMX) since 2023. 


She has presented live concerts for the radio stations OPUS 94 and Radio UNAM and has performed in the most important venues in Mexico such as: MUNAL, Sala Manuel M. Ponce and Sala Principal del Palacio de Bellas Artes, Auditorio Nacional, Teatro Juárez, Teatro del Bicentenario and Sala Nezahualcóyotl. She has participated in several premieres in Mexico, the most recent was the world premiere and recording of the work Para Ale by composer Sarah Basingthwaighte, a work for guitar and flute. She has worked in orchestras and as a soloist with orchestra with Camerata Nova Ar- monía, Orquesta Mexicana de las Artes, Orquesta del Teatro del Bicentenario, Orquesta Sinfónica de Aguascalientes, Orquesta Sinfónica de Minería, Orquesta Filarmónica de la UNAM and Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional under the baton of Carlos Miguel Prieto, Iván López Reynoso, Humberto López, Enrique Barrios, Jesús Medina, Sebastiano Ro- lli and Jan Latham Koenig. She has been invited to accompany Stacey Mastrian, Natalie Karl, Javier Camarena, Juan Diego Flórez and Plácido Domingo.


Alejandra ventured into Musical Theater in the play Papi Piernas Largas under the direction of Eduardo Soto and the project was nominated for Best Musical 2018 by the Asocia- tion of Theater Critics and Journalists. She has also ventured into composition with the works Decantando en cantar: canto entre contrastes, and Con-templo, premiered at the Museo Universitario de Arte Contemporáneo (MUAC) as part of the Proyecto Calei- doscopio Sonoro, directed by flutist Alejandro Escuer.


In 2022, she made her debut in the United States with the American premiere of Arturo Márquez’s Danzón 3 conducted by Antony Spain with Northwest Symphony Orchestra, in Seattle. Although her career is in crescendo, the radio program Escaparate 96-1 of Radio UNAM has conducted two interviews with her in 2020 and 2024. Other media have also highlighted her career including La Mujer en la Música, the digital magazine who dedicated its March 2024 cover to her.


She has recently collaborated with OPUS 94 in the radio program Anfitrionía as music presenter for a week and as an announcer for other live concerts on the same station. She is currently completing her Master’s degree in Performance within the Master’s and Doctoral Program in Music at UNAM, thanks to the support of CONAHCYT. Since 2018 she has been sponsored by Yamaha de México.
