Kithara Project Detroit offers a comprehensive classical guitar education program at Holy Redeemer Elementary School in Detroit, Michigan, serving a primarily Hispanic population of students. The program provides weekly group and individual instruction, fostering both collaborative and personalized learning experiences for young musicians. Students also participate in field trips to local performances, giving them the opportunity to experience Detroit’s rich cultural landscape and live musical events.
In addition to weekly instruction, the program features intensive residencies with guest artists, allowing students to learn directly from world-class classical guitarists. Kithara Project Detroit also includes cultural exchange opportunities with sister programs in Boston, Albuquerque, and Mexico City, giving students the chance to connect with peers and artists across different regions.
