Madeleine Davidson is a classical guitarist, teacher, and nonprofit leader based in Brooklyn, NY. She holds an M.P.A specializing in Nonprofit Management from Baruch College School of Public Affairs, and a B.M. in Classical Guitar Performance from Manhattan School of Music under primary teacher Mark Delpriora. Currently the Managing Director at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, Madeleine has extensive experience with community music schools both as an administrator and teaching artist. Her previous roles at the Conservatory include Suzuki Guitar Faculty, Executive Assistant, Human Resources Manager, Suzuki Theory Coordinator and Assistant to the Director. A member of the Brooklyn Conservatory Suzuki Guitar Faculty since 2010, Madeleine has completed Suzuki teacher training in Guitar Books 1-5 with partial scholarship from the Suzuki Association of the Americas. She was on the Suzuki Guitar Faculty at the Lucy Moses School at the Kaufman Center and Great Neck Conservatory. While at Baruch College School of Public Affairs Madeleine received a Hearst fellowship in Nonprofit Management, a Hagedorn merit scholarship, and the Kalina M. Bichova MPA ‘05 Award for outstanding academic achievement in the non profit management specialization track. A dedicated advocate for music as a transformative force in communities, Madeleine also serves as Vice President of the Board of Directors of Music Beyond, a nonprofit that provides teacher training, chamber music coaching, and performance opportunities to self taught musicians in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
