Eric Schallen

Trustee

Eric H Schallen, M.D., Ph.D.

Eric Schallen has adored the complexity and magic of classical guitar since stumbling across Julian Bream’s 1982 CD of Granados and Albeniz at Heffer’s music shop in Cambridge, England. At the time a Ph.D. student in Electrical Engineering, he subsequently performed medical research at Johns Hopkins and completed medical school at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor followed by residency at Washington University in St Louis. Dr. Schallen currently serves as a Local Practice Board member for Radiology Partners MBB Radiology in Jacksonville, Florida, where he is a Senior Partner radiologist specializing in oncologic imaging and advanced clinical MRI applications, and he serves as Chair of Radiology for Baptist Hospital Jacksonville and Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center. As part of his career with MBB Radiology, Dr. Schallen and his family resided in Madrid, Spain for three years where their eldest son Harth discovered an enduring love of visual art while their younger son Chase began studying classical guitar. His wife, Dr. Konika Schallen, shares the family’s unwavering passion for the guitar and its transformative power.
